Modern Victorian
A townhome in the historic neighborhood of Hamilton Park was tailored to fit our clients’ sophisticated and worldly lifestyles. The focus of this project was to redesign the parlor floor and convert the guest bedroom into a home office. On the parlor level, we created two distinct lounge spaces. First, a formal sitting room around the original marble fireplace inspiring conversation. Second, a welcoming entertainment space for cherished movie nights.
To capture the homeowners’ personalities, we highlighted traditional details and eclectic treasures. A timeless aesthetic was born and given extra charm through colors found in nature and design patterns reminiscent of their roots in India.
In the home office, we added a dramatic and unexpected feature via a hidden reading nook in the former walk in closet. Our clients love the functional reinvention of the space, designed to look like it has been there since the home’s inception. We paid attention to every detail including white oak bookshelves that expose a moody Morris & Co. wallpaper, and a custom walnut desk with an innovative stand-up component in the same walnut finish.
