Tarrytown
This newly built home in Tarrytown, Austin, was the beginning of a new chapter for a young family; a chance to finally create a space that felt like their own. While the construction was newly completed, we were brought in to refine the home through updated finishes, custom carpentry, thoughtful layout adjustments, and full-service furnishing. The heart of the home is a spacious great room where cooking, dining, and gathering seamlessly come together, framed by expansive glass doors and windows that connect the interior to the surrounding Austin landscape. Our goal was to enhance the warmth and livability of the space while preserving the home's beautiful bones.
Furnishings were carefully sourced to maintain a natural flow throughout, allowing the light and backyard views to shine while ensuring each room felt connected and considered. A custom-designed sectional with a peek-a-boo center keeps the living space feeling open without sacrificing comfort for cozy nights in. The home features handcrafted wood pieces by Gaelic & Grain, our Austin-based millwork studio led by Bryan Roche, as well as select designs from trusted makers like Croft House LA. From the softly arched dining alcove with custom shelving to the layered, serene bedroom retreat, each space was tailored to be both functional and deeply personal for this growing family.
Each piece in the home was hand-selected with intention, down to the finest details—from upholstery fabrics to joinery techniques and hardware fittings. The living room rug was sourced from Round Top, a beloved Texas antiques fair, bringing a one-of-a-kind layer of history and character to the space. Across the home, we prioritized natural materials and finishes that feel warm and timeless, while incorporating performance fabrics and family-friendly treatments to support everyday living. The result is a home that balances craftsmanship, comfort, and beauty in every detail.
